Fruits Custard


Ingredients :
  • custard powder ( Vanilla flavor) - 2 tbsp
  • Warm milk -3 tbsp for mixing custard powder
  • Milk 2 1/2 cups
  • Sugar 1/4 cup or more if you prefer more sweetness.
  • Mixed fruits . 
Method :
  • Chop fruits of your choice into medium sized pieces.
  • Mix custard powder into 3 tbsp of warm milk and make a smooth paste without any lumps.
  • Boil milk & add sugar to it.
  • Add custard paste to the milk & keep stirring until it becomes thick.
  • Refrigerate it when it comes to room temperature.
  • Before serving add fruits in a bowl & pour custard over it. 

Custard is ready to relish!!! enjoy it chilled :)

Nanchane Udda ( Finger Millet Juice ) Version 2




 Perfect  thirst quencher  to keep your body cool & healthy during hot summer :)!!!  Have already posted another version using milk. In this version its just 4 ingredients and your drink is ready !!! 

Ingredients   

Whole ragi 1 cup
Powdered jaggery 1/2 cup or more
Water 3 cups
Cardamom powder 2 tsp

Method :

Just clean the whole ragi and wash it twice you get rid of any impurities.

 Sun  dry this ragi on thin muslin clothes for 30 minutes. ( I normally buy kg of ragi, clean, sun dry & store it )

Now grind this ragi with the help of little water n strain it in strainer, you will get thick paste, continue this grinding  process thrice  adding water to residue left in strainer.  At this stage you will collect good amount of  ragi paste.

To the above paste add 3 cups of water, powdered jaggery &  cardamom powder  mix well till jaggery dissolve & refrigerate it.

Tastes superb when served chill !!!

Carrot Milk Shake





Delicious, thick, creamy carrot milk shake which tastes heavenly when served chilled :) one of the yummy shakes to beat the heat :)!!!!

Ingredients 

Carrot 4-5
Sugar 4-5 tbsp ( depending upon sweetness you prefer )
Thick milk 2 cups.

Method :

Peel the carrots & chop them into big chunks.

Cook it in 1/4 cup of milk until its soft or pressure cook it for one whistle.

Now blend cooked carrot along with remaining milk until everything blends well.

Serve it chilled :)

Musk Melon Milk Shake




Ingredients :

  • Musk melon pieces 1 cup
  • Milk  2 cups ( Chilled)
  • Sugar according to sweetness you prefer.
Method :

Blend musk melon pieces & sugar  for few seconds, then add milk and blend it again.

Serve it chilled :) 





Strawberry Milk Shake




Ingredients :

  • Chilled milk 1 cup
  • Fresh strawberries 5-6
  • Sugar 4-5 tbsp
Method :
  • Blend milk, strawberries & sugar.
Serve it chilled with fresh strawberries. :)







Masala Majjige ( Spiced Butter Milk)




Ingredients :

Curds 1 cup
Water 2 cups
Salt to taste
Green chilles -2

Seasoning :

Oil
Mustard seeds
Cumin seeds
Asafoetida - small pinch

Garnishing :

Coriander leaves.

Method :

Beat the curds well to this add water.

Crush  green chillies along with little salt in pestle & mortar or in mixy.

Add this to butter milk, mix well & strain it once.

Do the seasoning with seasoning items, & garnish it :)

Ragi Juice ( Finger millet Juice )




Relishing "summer drink " to beat the heat. Ragi is rich in calcium, iron, protein & many other minerals. Its low in fat. Its consumption will help us to reduce blood sugar level  in our body & Its very helpful to recuce the weight.

This  juice is famous in coastal part of Karnatka specially Mangalore & Udupi.


Ingredients :

  • Whole ragi 1/2 cup
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Powdered jaggery 1/2 cup
  • Cardamom powder 2-3 tsp

Method :
  • Wash & clean ragi well.
  • Grind it in mixer adding sufficient water in steps & strain it in clean muslin cloth.
  • Now add powdered jaggery & stir it well so that jaggery dissolves in juice
  • Finally add cardamom powder 
  Serve it chilled !!!





Kesar Shrikhand




Yummy chilled dish made with strained yogurt. Its one of the famous Gujarati  cuisine. Its a great accomplishment with "Pooris "


Ingredients :

  • 1/2 litre hung curd   ( Used Milkymist  which comes in cartons )
  • 6 tbsp of sugar
  • Saffron- few strands soaked in milk
  • Cardamom powder -2 tsp

Method :
  •     Take the curd in clean muslin cloth, tie it for minimum 3 hours, till all the whey drains away.
  • After 3 hours  take curds, sugar, saffron & cardamom powder and blend it well to get smooth paste.!!!
  Shrikhand  is ready!!! Serve it chilled :)


Aam Ka Panna ( Raw Mango Drink )





Simple chilling drink to beat the heat   "aam ka panna" a refreshing drink from the state of "Maharashtra". Simple drink with limited ingredients 

Ingredients :

  • Raw mango -1 ( Totapuri )
  • Sugar 1/2 cup
  • Black salt  1 tsp
  • Roasted cumin powder 2 tsp
  • Cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Water 

Method :

  • Wash the mango well and pressure cook it with enough water for 2 whistles.
  • Peel the skin collect the pulp and grind it well with sugar.
  • Now add water depending upon the consistency you prefer
  • Add remaining ingredients, stir well
  • Serve it chilled :)!!!

Jaggery Panak




One of the traditional yummy drink to beat the heat :) Its healthy drink as it contains all healthy ingredients!!!


Ingredients : ( Serves 2 people )

Drinking water 2 cups
Powdered jaggery 4-5 tbsp
Pepper corns 4-5
Cardamom 2-3
Ginger 1/2 inch piece
Salt
Lemon juice of 1 lemon

Method :

Add jaggery to water and let it  dissolve in water completely ,crush pepper, cardamom, ginger finely, now add crushed item to water, add salt mix well  finally add lime juice and strain it once in strainer serve it chilled
