Rulava Rotti ( Sajjige Rotti )



Easy peasy  breakfast item which can be prepared in jiffy spl on lazy mornings :) Tastes super delicious  when served with butter :) Do try this simple recipe n for sure you will love this :)

Ingredients :

Semolina / sajjige  1 cup
Grated coconut 2 fistful
Phova ( Thin variety ) 2 fistful
Green chillies 2-3
Ginger 2 inch piece
Water 1/2 cup ( appro)
Sugar 2 tsp 
Salt to taste 
Oil for roasting.

Method :

Dry roast semolina on a medium flame until you get nice aroma, keep this aside.

Grind grated coconut along with green chillies & ginger by adding lil water into coarse paste ( grind it for 2 pulse )

Now add grated coconut mixture, phova ( soak in water just for 2 minutes and squeeze out water  ) to roasted semolina , add salt, sugar & water and mix well.

Now heat tawa, smear some oil, take some batter & flatten it on tawa patting with fingers to form a round shape , apply oil on sides & roast it both sides  till crisp !!!

Enjoy with butter :)

Akki Rotti





Ingredients :

  • Rice flour 1 cup
  • Water 11/4 cup
  • Salt to tatse
  • Oil 1 tsp
Method :
  • In a wide bottom kadai boil water when it comes to boil take out 1/4 cup of water & keep it aside.
  • To the remaining water add oil & salt, simmer the flame and add rice flour mix it well, switch off the flame and keep it covered for 10-15 minutes
  • Now take out the dough, apply oil to the hands knead the dough well, at this stage if you feel if its dry add the water which you kept aside knead it really well
  • Now pinch out lemon size dough and roll it thinly without pressure.
  • In a pan add oil roast the rottis  both the side.
Enjoy with chutney or sambhar

Vegetable Akki Rotti ( Rice Flour Rotti )


Akki Rotti 
Akki rotti is authentic malnad side breakfast which is healthy filling breakfast, which can be prepared easily within no time. Here goes the recipe.


Ingredients: ( Below measurement serves 2 people)

 Rice flour 1 1/ 2 cup
Finely chopped onion 1
Corriander leaves finely chopped

Grated Carrot 3 tbsp
Grated Coconut 1/2 cup
Dill Leaves - handful 
Curry leaves finely chopped
Cumin seeds 1/ 2 tsp
Green chillies 2-3
Bengal gram dal 1 tsp soaked in water

salt


 Method : You can follow either of the two methods.


Mix all the above ingredients and water to form soft dough( it shouldn't be too hard or too soft)
Heat tawa, dip your fingers in water take big lemon sized dough and pat it on tawa directly,  apply oil to sides n roast both sides!

Or 

Take banana leaf, apply oil, wet your hands with water take lemon size balls and pat in circular motion and make a thin rotti, now transfer the leaf on the gridle and press it gently and slowly take off the  banana leaf, apply oil to the sides and roast it both the sides




Have hot akki rottis with coconut chutney or with your favourite side dish!
